The Yale School of Forestry was begun in 1900 through the efforts of two conservationists, Gifford Pinchot (B.A. 1889, LL.D. 1925) and Henry S. Graves (B.A. 1892, LL.D. 1940). The school is the oldest forestry school in the country, and its influence on forestry in the United States and abroad, has become well-established.
